I originally bought this book because I have been to Provincetown a few times. It was entertaining and kept me interested. I’m pretty good at guessing “who done it” but this one took me closer to the end of the book. Very enjoyable read.

Provincetown is one of my favorite places to visit so when I saw the name in the title of this I had to read it. I was not disappointed. Finally an author has been able to successfully capture the flavor of that quirky town on the end of Cape Cod and do it well. I laughed and chuckled as I tried to solve mystery of who exactly killed “native son” Sonny Carreiro. There were plenty of likeable characters and plenty of petty villains who got their just desserts. Although the time period is in the 1990s the economic issues are very similar to the challenges businesses face today, especially in a tourist resort. There’s a lot of good descriptions of the restaurant and newspaper business that I enjoyed and thus I’d heartily recommend this book. It’s entertaining and that’s what I look for when I read a mystery.
